This XC ski and snowshoe clinic is for people who love to trek through snow. There are a limited number of skis and snowshoes. There is a very limited number of small XC ski boots. Parents should assist their children in the clinic. The XC ski clinic is geared towards adults and teenagers. Children are welcome to try snow shoeing with their parents. The clinic will break into two groups. John Laird, Naturalist, will lead the snowshoe clinic. Judy Hartnett, and other volunteers will be leading the cross country ski clinic. There will be a potluck following the clinic, so please bring something to eat if you plan to stay for the potluck. Free will donations will be taken for the purchase of additional XC ski equipment and snowshoes. To reserve your spot call our office at 515-832-9570 or email John Laird at hccblaird@wmtel.net along with your name we will need your height, shoe size, and phone number. Feel free to bring your own XC skis or snowshoes as this will allow more people to participate.

Kendall Young Library will be hosting their tenth annual Family Game Night. Bring the whole family to spend quality time together.  Get moving and have a blast.  Families will be able to choose from a variety of board games and card games, or try out life-size versions of Candyland and more. Or, bring your favorite board game along and share the fun with others. Children 5th grade and under must be accompanied by an adult or older family member. Taco bags & cookies will be served. Plan to have lots of FUN at the library! No registration or charge.

We will be showing the movie Wonder which is about August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time. The movie stars Julia Roberts, Own Wilson, and Jacom Tremblay. Meet us in the Library Meeting Room at 6:00pm on Tuesday, February 20th to participate. Popcorn and beverages provided free of charge. No registration or fee.

SHIFT Happens will be Dodge Ballin' For A Cause! The local youth group will host the Annual Dodge For A Cause Dodgeball Tournament in Webster City. 
 
Pre-Registration orders due Feb 9 at 3:15 pm if you want to purchase a t-shirt. Teams may register up until the day of the event on Feb 23 but to help prepare brackets please registered by Feb 22 at 3:15 pm.

This course is a prerequisite for the Garden Nova class on Sunday. Each session will be limited to 4 students to allow the instructor to assist each student. You will be encouraged to experiment and need only the willingness to try in order to be successful. Dress in warm, comfortable, spark resistant clothing.  Bring leather gloves and helmet if you have them.
